Autumn brings... new timetable, new teachers!

As we begin to say goodbye to summer, it's time to get back to the studio with our autumn timetable of nearly 40 classes per week. This includes 32 classes in studio and 7 classes online. Delivered by our professional, welcoming teaching team we are pleased to announce the addition of two new teachers.

Danile Marcondes - New Teacher Welcome

Danile hails from Brazil and came to the UK in 2006. She qualified as a physiotherapist in 2001 and in 2005 she was certified by Romana Kryzanowska's Classical Pilates Method. She is joining the teaching team as a Pilates teacher.

Danile taught in several different studios in London until 2008 when she opened her own Pilates Studio in SW London. She ran it for nine years and had five teachers delivering 30 classes per week. When she was approached by one of her teachers to buy the studio she took the opportunity to sell and split her time between Brazil and England. Before Covid hit she had made the decision to settle more permanently in the UK and moved from London to Ampthill. She divides her time between teaching in London, home schooling her 3 boys and now working with akarmalife. You will find her here Friday-Sunday.

During all these years training and teaching Pilates, she has helped lots of women and men to build a stronger and more flexible body, including those who were unable to pick up a child or a paper from the floor due to back pain. Danile is fascinated by the effect of Pilates in people’s lives and it is this unique perspective and background she brings to akarmalife.

Danile is teaching two new Pilates classes, Friday 4:45pm and Sunday 9am.

Annalisa McKenna - New Teacher Welcome

A new teacher but a familiar face! Many of you will know Annalisa as a fellow student in classes. She has completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with YogaLondon.

Annalisa says, “I’ve taken part in all kinds of exercise throughout my life, most of it being quite intense. I began yoga as I was looking for something different that would benefit my whole self, and that my husband and I could share together. We were drawn to akarmalife as we were seeking a more personal approach. Following a skiing accident (which left me with pain and immobility) is when yoga not only became a saviour, but also a passion. It was obvious to me this was something that would become a daily part of my life, and naturally lead on to me studying in London in order to teach it. Over time I have developed my practice and enjoy the range available to me, from Restorative to Ashtanga Vinyasa which I am currently studying more in depth with support from Olena.

My wish is to share the benefits and knowledge I have gained and hopefully ignite this passion in others. I believe yoga is accessible to all, no matter what age or shape you are. akarmalife has been the perfect environment for me to develop as a student and now a teacher. There is a genuinely friendly vibe, with many people being regulars in classes. I love the variety of classes on offer and take full advantage of this! Whether you are looking to develop strength and flexibility, or want to relieve stress and unwind, there is a class that is likely to be just what you need. I look forward to teaching an online class and supporting the other teachers as the studio continues to evolve."

Annalisa is teaching Hatha Yoga, Sunday 9am online.
